Colored Pencil Drawings & Mosaics by Judy Carroll
Judy Carroll is a Colored Pencil and Mosaic Artist living in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. She has been married for 48 years and has two grown children and two adorable grandsons. She has pursued her Art in Mosaics for 16 years and Colored Pencil for 8 years.
With Colored Pencils, she loves the creative process from just deciding what to draw, composing the sketch, to the manipulation of vivid color and creating depth through layering and the addition of texture.
Mosaics have a tactile quality about them that invites the viewer to touch and explore. She also enjoys the challenge of creating a piece that is cohesive and beautiful to the eye. She loves everything about it from the process of choosing the colors, deciding how to cut the glass and how to lay it out, to grouting and revealing the final image.
She is inspired by the Organic and Textured forms found in Nature and seeks to contrast the Natural with splashes of vivid color that will complement each piece whether it is a colored pencil painting or a mosaic. All of it fascinates her because there are infinite possibilities!
